Sandro’s Star drives the notion that a performance pedigree should reap a performance horse – his success in sport is a direct nod to a background of well-regarded Oldenburg and Holsteiner blood anchored by an equally influential Thoroughbred dam line. The sire, Sagnol (Sandro Hit – Landadel), blends together a mixture of top Dressage and Jumping breeding dynasties. Sandro Hit has sired numerous approved stallion sons, Bundeschampions, World Champions and Olympic Grand Prix Dressage horses, while Landadel is widely recognized as one of the most influential sons of the Holsteiner stallion Landgraf. In 1998, the Landadel daughter Lady Weingard was the 1998 World Champion in Grand Prix Show Jumping under Markus Beerbaum. Sagnol himself stems from the same successful Holsteiner dam line as the popular sires Acorado, Calvados, Lordanos, and Rouletto.

Through his dam Poetic Patter xx (Nostalgia’s Star xx – Envoy xx), Sandro’s Star boasts Thoroughbred breeding proven in both sport and the production of sport horses. The French Thoroughbred sire Herbager xx, seen three times in the pedigree of Poetic Patter xx, is noted for being a strong influencer of stamina within both the United States and France. Furthermore, Herbager xx shows up as the paternal grandsire of Hill Hawk xx, a well-regarded improvement sire within the Oldenburg and Hanoverian breeds. Sandro’s Star’s maternal grand sire Nostalgia’s Star xx won over $2 million in 59 lifetime starts before retiring to a breeding career. These foundation Thoroughbred lines can be found in the pedigrees of a number of International Dressage and Eventing horses.

Provisionally licensed by the German Oldenburg Verband in 2011, Sandro’s Star garnered high praise and a perfect “10” for his canter from the judges. These initial qualities were proven further at his 70-Day Stallion Test in 2012, highlighted by scores of “10” for cross-country gallop and cross-country jumping, “9” for canter and stadium jumping ability, and “8.5” for temperament and willingness to work. Sandro’s Star received an impressive final index of 115.32, placing fourth overall. Following testing, Sandro’s Star was sent to Germany and qualified for the 2013 Bundeschampionate in Eventing – a first for a US bred horse. A strong final score of 8.1 further solidified the young stallion’s ability in a field of 70 horses.

Sandro’s Star returned to the US Eventing scene in 2017 with notable top finishes at the Intermediate/2* level including a win at the Fair Hill CIC, 4th at the American Eventing Championships in Tryon, and a 13th place finish at Fair Hill International CCI. 2018 saw a move up to the 4* level, with a 3rd place at Rebecca Farm and a top 20 finish at Plantation Field International. The year culminated with an exciting win in the $50,000 Devon Arena Eventing class. In 2019, Sandro’s Star was selected for the $50,000 Aiken Grand Prix Eventing Showcase and finished 3rd under British Olympic team rider William Fox-Pitt. He would return to Devon to finish as the runner up in his second year for Arena Eventing.

Based on his successes in sport, Sandro’s Star was named the United States Eventing Association Stallion of the Year in 2017 and 2018. Additionally, Sandro’s Star won the Stallions Four Years and Older class, was named Champion Stallion, High Score Born in the USA for Stallions, and Champion Stallion for the USDF/GAIG East Coast Finals at Dressage at Devon in 2017.

Sandro’s Star passes on an elegant type, long lines, solid gaits and has produced a high percentage of Premium and Elite foals with the German Oldenburg Verband. Breeders rave about the easy and personable characters of his offspring, and with the oldest now under saddle, we are seeing top rideability, balanced movement, and good instincts. Sandro’s Star can be used to improve the type, character, and riding horse qualities on a variety of mares.

Fully approved by the German Oldenburg Verband and ISR/OLD NA.

Pedigree Chart2024 Per Dose Breeding Agreement

Highlighted by dual success in both the Dressage and Eventing worlds, the dynamic stallion Faramund offers a strong pedigree featuring some of the most sought-after Westphalian, Hanoverian, and Oldenburg bloodlines for sport. Sire Fidertanz (Fidermark I – Ravallo) was proclaimed Champion of 2004 Westphalian licensing, won his 30-Day Stallion Test, and was Vice Bundeschampion of the Three-Year-Old Riding Stallions in 2005. Successful through Grand Prix Dressage, Fidertanz has gone on to even further acclaim as a sire: over 30 licensed stallion sons, Elite Mare Show champions, Bundeschampions, auction price highlights, and several offspring at the FEI levels of Dressage including the Grand Prix stallions Franziskus and Foundation. Fidertanz himself is a son of the Bundeschampion and Grand Prix stallion Fidermark I and is out of a daughter of Ravallo, a stallion noted as the producer of offspring successful both in Dressage and Jumping.

Damsire Donnerschlag, a direct son of the influential Donnerhall, was licensed in Oldenburg in 1989 and would become the foundation stallion at Gestüt St. Ludwig. Finishing within the top of his stallion testing, Donnerschlag enjoyed a career as both a successful sire and Dressage horse, competing through the Grand Prix level. Donnerschlag’s dam was a full sister to the noted stallions Pik Bube I and II and also produced the approved stallion Ragazzo. Faramund’s dam Donna Gloria also produced the States Premium mare Signorina (Sir Donnerhall I), herself the dam of Faithful Rose (Fidertanz), sold to Canada through the 2017 Klosterhof Medingen Fall Auction. Through his motherline, Faramund boasts a blood connection to influential Anglo-Arabian, Selle Francais, and Trakehner lines through the stallions Inschallah, Furioso II, and Schoener Abend.

Originally licensed in Verden in 2012, Faramund was sourced the following year in Germany by Hannah Salazar and was subsequently imported to the US. As a 3-year old, Faramund posted resounding success, ending the year as both Champion 3-year old In-Hand and Under Saddle at the Spy Coast Young Horse Show Finals in Tryon, NC. In 2014, Faramund left his mark at the prestigious Dressage at Devon, being named Champion Stallion and Reserve Champion Mature Horse.

Faramund had a successful debut on the Eventing circuit in 2018, with top finishes at the Plantation Field and Seneca Valley Horse Trials, a Top 20 finish in the CIC2* at Plantation Field International, and was ultimately ranked 2nd for USEA Stallion of the Year. Off to a confident start for the 2020 season, Faramund placed 2nd in the competitive PR division at Pine Top and a 1st place finish in the PR division at Redhills International with Young Rider, Emma Keahon

In his first foal crop, we saw offspring of a well-balanced model, attractive type, correct conformation, and elastic movement with good power from the hind leg. Faramund can be used as a dual-purpose sire to improve the foundation, gaits, and rideability of a wide range of mares.

With a highly interesting pedigree of successful performance and breeding lines in a modern package, we are excited to present Floraldik as one of the only direct links in the US to the 5-time #1 WBFSH Eventing Sire Heraldik xx. Originally sourced in the Oldenburg Elite Foal Auction in Vechta, this charming young stallion is very correct in his conformation with expression to spare. Under saddle, he shows top rideability and gaits, good jumping technique and scope, and a natural ability for cross-country. His first foals will arrive in Spring 2022.

Sire Florenz is an own son of two-time World Young Horse Champion Florencio with the important breeding stallion Sandro Hit as damsire. Originally licensed in Oldenburg, Florenz convinced with his first foal crops as a producer of modern type, long lines, and functional, uphill movement. He finished his 30-day stallion test with the highest Dressage index and multiple scores above 9, including a 9.5 on rideability and a 10 on walk. Florenz placed 4th at both the Hanoverian Championships and the Bundeschampionate as a 4-year-old and has continued on to successes at the Small Tour level (PSG/I1).

Floraldik’s dam Highlight is sired by the highly influential Thoroughbred stallion Heraldik xx. Heraldik xx is considered one of the most successful sires for modern Eventing, having been named the #1 Eventing Stallion by the WBFSH for five consecutive years (2009 – 2013). At the 2008 Olympic Games, the Gold Medal winning German Eventing Team included the direct Heraldik xx offspring Butts Leon and FRH Butts Abraxas. Five direct offspring competed at the 2010 World Equestrian Games in Kentucky. Other contributors to the legacy of Heraldik xx include Halunke FBW (Individual and Team Gold 2013 European Championships), FRH Butts Avedon (Team Gold 2013 European Championships), RF Tobasco, TSF Karascada M, and the approved stallion and Polish Olympic Dressage horse H-Ekwador. Heraldik xx also continues his strong influence as a damsire through important sport and breeding horses such as World Champion Mighty Magic who himself ranked 9th on the WBFSH Sire Rankings for Eventing in 2020.

Floraldik’s dam also produced the successful 4* horse, Long Island T. Under Boyd Martin, Long Island T ended 2018 as USEA Horse of the Year with top placings at Carolina International, Pine Top, Jersey Fresh, Bromont, and Fair Hill International. In 2019, the pair won the American Eventing Championships at the Advanced level. Also from the dam line comes the CSI 4* (Grand Prix) horse Black Swan Special and the PSG/I1 successful Lili Marlene.

Floraldik can be used to add modern type, refinement, expression, and high-class gaits to a wide variety of mares.
